The Department offers 4 year BS (Hon’s) degree in Environmental Science under National University. Students are studying and researching on the focused areas of Environmental change and its Impact on Society, Climate Change and Poverty Issues, Environmental Policy, Laws and Ethics, Environmental Economy, Global Warming and Sea-level Rise, Hydrology, Water Quality Assessment, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental Pollution and Control, Statistical Analyses and Instrumental techniques, Soil Erosion, Land Use and Degradation, Phycology, Mycology, Plant physiology, Cytology, Zoology, Taxonomy, Ethology, Economic botany, Biodiversity, Ecology and Ecosystem, Environmental Microbiology, Disaster Risk Management, Industrial and Agricultural Pollution Control, Integrated Pest Management, Waste Management and Recycling, Toxicity in the Food Chain, Heavy Metal Contamination, Soil Survey, GIS, Mapping and Remote Sensing etc.

Department of Environmental Science celebrates and hosts World Environment Day every yearat the College Premises. The Department also celebrates and participates in the International Mother Language Day, Independence and National Day, Victory Day, Pohela Boishak and other noteworthy days of our country. The Department have arranged Study Tour at Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, St. Martin’s Island, Sundarban and Kuakata. Ecological Survey, and Soil and Water sample collection and mapping of these areas were done by the students for departmental archive. The Department is also willing to arrange excursion at foreign countries. Department of Environmental Science also offers award to the students for their outstanding performance and provide scholarships to the economically stressed but brilliant students.
