Department of Social Work

The Department of Social Work was established in 1996 at Shaikh Burhanuddin Post Graduate College and has been emerged as a good academic center of learning human dignity, human rights and social justice in Bangladesh. From the beginning the Department of Social Work has been dedicated to achieve academic excellence in professional social work education both in graduate and postgraduate levels in Bangladesh. All academic programs of the department are student-centered and committed to enhance student’s well-being. Social Work is a helping and enabling profession. Therefore, the central mission of the department is to prepare competent and skilled social work professionals for serving with vulnerable individuals, families, groups, and communities in Bangladesh.
